2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Review // DRAG RACE & LAP TIME
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N ($78,199 starting in Canada, $66,100 starting in the US) is the first EV to receive the N treatment from Hyundai. A dual-motor, all wheel drive system makes a maximum of 641 horsepower and 568 lb ft of torque. To live up to its N counterparts, the Ioniq 5 N sees numerous performance focused improvements over the normal model. This includes some serious things like fully redesigned suspension, meatier tires, and exterior design elements to help with cooling and aerodynamics. But how does it handle the track? £2,000 vs £200,000 luxury SUV!

However, there’s a problem - the new Range Rover comes with a pretty hefty price tag of around £200,000! So if it’s too steep for you, would you be better off going for a 2004 Range Rover Autobiography, that cost just £2,000? Well, it’s time to find out! So let’s take a look at what you get with each car. Starting with the new Range Rover, it looks super sleek from the outside. It comes with a chrome effect on the grille, huge 23-inch alloy wheels, and a few smart features such as pop-out door handles! Step inside and it just exudes luxury, with the entire cabin covered in leather and a huge infotainment screen and digital dial system. This edition also comes with the executive class dual rear seats, which recline and are super comfortable! When it comes to engine choices, the one we have here is a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can deliver 530hp. However, there are also two plug-in hybrid editions available. In terms of the old Range Rover, it's clearly related to the newer car, although it has a much more boxy design. It’s clearly been well used, with a couple of bumps and spots of rust, but it still looks pretty smart. The interior has also held up relatively well, although the leather on the steering wheel doesn’t look the best, and some of the mod-cons no longer work - but it’s still not bad for a car with over 170,000 miles on the clock! Naturally, it’s also down on power, with its 4.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 delivering 286hp. So what do you think - will the car that is 100x the price of the classic Range Rover win it? Or will the old edition prove to be better value for money? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! When Formula 1 Had MASSIVE TURBOS
This Formula 1 car has 1400 horsepower, that’s 400 MORE than the F1 cars of today. It was all about engineers pushing machines beyond the limits of technlogy at the time, creating MONSTERS. But they had one main issue, they LOVED to blow up. Turbos rocked up in Formula 1 out of nowhere - let me explain. Since 1966 you were allowed to create engines in any format - as long as it was a maximum of 3 litre capacity. And teams ran all sorts of engines, flat 4s, inline 4s, V6s, V8s, V16s - the lot. But there was one rule they ignored. You were allowed ‘forced induction’ engines, but they had to be less than 1.5 litres in capacity. So they WERE allowed turbos and superchargers. But nobody ran them. You will know the magic a turbo can bring for performance already, it’s likely your road car will have a turbo. They are everywhere. And it’s not like they weren’t popular back in the 60s and 70s either. There were road cars like the Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire and Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were both turbocharged. And it was VERY common in the aerospace industry too. But all of the teams elected for the simpler, and lighter format of the 3-litre, naturally aspirated engines. Many were using the Ford Cosworth DFV engine - that soon became an ICON in Formula 1. FIRST DRIVE: Porsche Macan Turbo - As Fast As A 911 GT3!
This is Porsche’s most important launch since the Mk1 Cayenne. Why? Because even as a decade-old model at the end of its life, Porsche shifted 87,355 units of its smaller SUV in 2023, just a few hundred shy of the Cayenne. But now the second-gen Macan is going electric, and the buying public hasn’t wholly embraced EVs… Perhaps more challenging still, while the last Macan was priced from £54k to £73k in the UK, the new one starts at £70k and runs up to exactly £95,000 for the range-topping Turbo model (which doesn’t have a turbocharger anywhere near it). Sure, you get more performance, but the last Macan was a (relatively) affordable entry point into practical Porsche ownership; the new one is only £600 cheaper than a Cayenne! So it’s electric, and expensive. Can the tech impress and the dynamics dazzle enough to tempt potential buyers?
