FIRST DRIVE: Porsche Macan Turbo - As Fast As A 911 GT3!
This is Porsche’s most important launch since the Mk1 Cayenne. Why? Because even as a decade-old model at the end of its life, Porsche shifted 87,355 units of its smaller SUV in 2023, just a few hundred shy of the Cayenne. But now the second-gen Macan is going electric, and the buying public hasn’t wholly embraced EVs… Perhaps more challenging still, while the last Macan was priced from £54k to £73k in the UK, the new one starts at £70k and runs up to exactly £95,000 for the range-topping Turbo model (which doesn’t have a turbocharger anywhere near it). Sure, you get more performance, but the last Macan was a (relatively) affordable entry point into practical Porsche ownership; the new one is only £600 cheaper than a Cayenne! So it’s electric, and expensive. Can the tech impress and the dynamics dazzle enough to tempt potential buyers? 1200hp Corvette C8 v Model S Plaid: DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on the awesome Tesla Model S Plaid, and it’s facing off against an insane Corvette C8 that’s been tuned to 1,200hp!! So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the Tesla, it’s housing three motors under the skin that combine to produce 1,020hp and 1,420Nm of torque. Naturally, the batteries and motors weigh a fair bit, and the Model S tips the scales at 2,167kg. What’s more, this Model S comes with a few upgrades, including some Koenigsegg carbon fibre aero at the front & around the back! Then alongside it, we have the Corvette, which has had a whole lot more work done to it than just adding some aero! As a result, the 6.2-litre twin-turbo V8 now produces 1,200hp and an amazing 1,491Nm of torque! So it’s packing a serious punch, but this power is sent to the rear wheels only! So will the Corvette be able to put the power down? Or will it be a clear win for Tesla? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE! Ferrari 296 v McLaren 750S v Huracan Perf v 911 Turbo: DRAG RACE

We’ve finally got our hands on the McLaren 750 S, and it’s facing off against a bunch of incredible supercars - the Ferrari 296 GTB, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and Porsche 911 Turbo S! So let’s see how these magnificent machines compare. Starting with the McLaren, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8. This delivers 750hp and 800Nm to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1,389kg. Alongside it, we have the Ferrari. It’s packing a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 along with an electric motor, and these combine to put down 830hp and 740Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,470kg. Next up it’s the Lambo, which houses a huge 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that produces 640hp and 600Nm. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the lightest car here, weighing in at 1,382kg. Then finally we have the Porsche. It’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that puts down 650hp and 800Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the heaviest car here, coming in at 1,640kg. So will the ever-reliable Porsche snatch another win? FIRST DRIVE: Lucid Gravity – 1,000bhp Tesla Model X Rival
You'll know Lucid from its ultra-spacious, slippery Air saloon, which can hit 60 in 1.9 seconds and is very probably the best-handling electric family car on sale today. 10 out of 10, no notes. So, how does the new Gravity SUV – Lucid's difficult second album – stack up? Well, it's a little early for a full drive (stick around for a drive of the prototype later in the video) but here's what we do know. It'll use the next generation of Lucid tiny-but mighty bespoke motors. There’s a 900-volt architecture for fast charging speeds, and it'll be able to accelerate to 60mph in less than 3.5sec in the quicker versions. Base models will start from $74k, with 'around 800bhp.' Inside there’s screens galore, and four rows of seats (sort of). All very impressive. All very Tesla, you might think. But what sets Lucid apart?
