We’ve brought along Mat’s Audi RS7 Performance for one final drag race, and it’s going up against an Audi RSQ8 in disguise… Also known as a Lamborghini Urus! They’re both powered by the same engine, but which will come out on top? For starters, let’s take a closer look at the stats… The Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 650hp and 850Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, and the car weighs in at 2,197kg. As new, the Urus cost from £175,000. As for the RS7, you’ll find the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet. Here though, it’s tuned to 630hp and 850Nm of torque, and power is sent to all four wheels via the same 8-speed torque converter gearbox. It tips the scales at 2,065kg, and when new it costs from £130,000. So the RS7 is lighter, but the Urus has more power! Can you pick a winner? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

We’ve got Mat in a Lamborghini Aventador SV, Tomi in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and they’re facing off against… a VW Beetle?! But wait! This is no ordinary Beetle. This is Electric Classic Cars’s Bug Zappa! And it might be one of the craziest EVs we’ve ever had on this channel. So let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Lambo, it’s powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 that can deliver 750hp and 690Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed gearbox, and the car tips the scales at around 1,775kg. When new, the Lambo cost around £238,000. The Porsche is powered by a 4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six that can produce 525hp and 465Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs just 1,450kg. With the Weissach Pack added, the car cost around £230,000. Finally, we come to the Bug Zappa! It’s shaped like a classic VW Beetle, but it’s powered by two Tesla motors and produces 800hp and 930Nm. There’s a motor on each axle, so it has four-wheel drive. It’s the lightest car here, coming in at 1,300kg. All in, the car cost around £75,000. So will it be an easy win for the all-electric Beetle? Or could the Lambo or Porsche snatch it? Revuelto review (and a hybrid Lamborghini you HAVEN'T heard of) | Henry Catchpole -The Driver’s Seat
Golden hour in Tuscany with a new Lamborghini Revuelto is truly something to be savoured. Although… there is the nagging thought that the addition of some electric motors to the quintessential naturally aspirated V12 might spoil the party. Yes, a combined 1001bhp should be enough to overcome the extra weight of a hybrid system and ensure the Revuelto’s 1772kg (3907lb - dry weight) feels quick in a straight line, but can the promises of torque vectoring really do much to help in the corners? Certainly there is no outward lack of drama. This particular car is in Giallo (yellow) Countach, which, although gorgeous, is perhaps a little too Corvette for comfort. However, the sensational scissor doors are present and correct, the hexagonal exhausts are mounted high and the V12 is left al fresco for maximum visual impact. Does the Revuelto look like it costs £450,000 or $600,00? Yes, absolutely. But back to the hybrid, because we know that’s still a concern for many. But Henry Catchpole has a history lesson that might put some minds a little more at ease. Because this is not the first hybrid Lamborghini - and we’re not talking about the Sian. A trip to the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum near Bologna reveals myriad marvels from the engineer’s mind (did you know he designed a helicopter?) but it is his earliest creation that is of interest to us. Without wishing to give too much away, the Revuelto is remarkable. But, ignoring money for a moment, which hybrid supercar would you choose to drive if someone opened the hypothetical keybox? Porsche’s New 6-STROKE Engine Just Saved Internal Combustion!

From Porsche to Toyota and even Ferrari, several manufacturers have been exploring new ways to ensure that the internal combustion engine doesn’t cease to exist as more regulations are brought in over the next few years. But what sort of technology have they been working on? Well, one of the most exciting innovations comes from Porsche, with patents for an all-new 6-stroke petrol engine having been uncovered! There’s a whole load of technical detail included with the patents, but this all-new design looks like it will help to radically boost power thanks to there being two power strokes in every three revolutions. With this in mind, not only is power increased, but it means that emissions will also decrease at the same time. But that’s not all, both Ferrari and Toyota have unveiled patents and teased tech that makes use of hydrogen fuel. For example, patents reveal that Ferrari is undertaking work on a supercar that would Include a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine! Clearly, development of this is in the very early stages at the moment, but there are great benefits to be had with hydrogen fuel, mainly being the fact that no carbon dioxide is expelled from the car at all, so it’s an actual game-changer when it comes to reducing emissions! This system features internally ventilated brake discs, measuring 400x38 mm on the front axle with six-piston fixed calipers and 370x32 mm on the rear axle with single-piston floating calipers. Inside, the MBUX infotainment system includes hybrid-specific displays, such as the charging menu and status indicators for the high-voltage battery, including electric range and battery temperature. These features enhance the overall driving experience by keeping the driver informed of the vehicle’s electric functions. Powering the GLE 53 HYBRID is a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo engine, which has been extensively modified from the conventional GLE model. This engine now produces 330 kW (449 hp), an increase of 10 kW (14 hp), and features reprogrammed software and an additional nose cooler. The electric motor replaces the previous electric compressor, improving the engine’s responsiveness and eliminating turbo lag. Together, the hybrid system achieves a combined output of 400 kW (544 hp) and 750 Nm of torque. The Specs of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ translate to exceptional performance. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. It can reach up to 140 km/h in pure electric mode, and offers an electric range of 80-86 km (SUV) and 82-87 km (Coupé) according to WLTP standards. A standard 11 kW onboard charger handles alternating current, while an optional 60 kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The plug-in hybrid model mirrors the design updates introduced for the GLE lineup in Spring 2023. It stands out with hybrid-specific badges on the front fenders and rear, and an open cooling air inflow integrated into the front guard. The car's AMG RIDE CONTROL air suspension has been specially tuned for the hybrid model, combining adaptive damping with a sporty, yet comfortable ride typical of AMG. New passive stabilizers, front strut buffers, and rear dampers, along with reprogrammed software, ensure a balanced and dynamic driving experience. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ features multiple driving programs, including hybrid-specific modes. In "Electric" mode, the vehicle drives solely on electric power up to 140 km/h, while the combustion engine automatically activates when more power is required or the battery is depleted. With its reinforced chassis, the Mitsubishi L200 boasts an impressive maximum load capacity of 4,125 kgs, which combines the maximum towing capacity and remaining payload. The towing capacity stands at 3,500 kgs, with an additional payload of 625 kgs (including the driver). Inside, the L200 offers comfort and sportiness, featuring body-hugging front seats designed with wide shoulder support and a deep center for maximum comfort. The L200 double cab accommodates up to three additional passengers, providing the same comfort and space as a regular car. For added convenience, the L200 can be equipped with an electronically adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and optional leather seat trim for a more luxurious feel. Technology is central to the L200 experience. The layout ensures that everything from the 4WD mode selector to the DAB radio is within easy reach of the driver. The days of pickup trucks feeling sparse and utilitarian are long gone—now, the sculpted center panel and integrated console create a cabin environment that feels more like a powerful SUV than a traditional pickup. With intuitive buttons and clear switches, accessing essential features is simple and efficient. Safety is also a top priority in the Mitsubishi L200. If another vehicle is detected behind you while reversing, the door mirror's indicator light will flash, accompanied by a warning sound, and a message will appear on the Multi-Information Display on the dashboard. The arrival of the new Temerario – a replacement for the Huracán – now means Lamborghini offers all its models with hybrid powertrains. Hmmm… But fret not, for this is Lambo’s take on hybridisation. So, while the Huracán's naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 has been swapped for a mere 4.0-litre V8, it has gained twin turbos and over 150bhp in the process. And, just for good measure, Lamborghini has allied it to not one, not two, but three electric motors, for a 907bhp total.
