STELLANTIS HAS 'STRONG START' ON 2026 MINIVAN SALES AS NEW WINDSOR-BUILT PACIFICA UNVEILED

The Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica drove much of Stellantis’s sales growth in Canada going into the new year, and the positive news comes as the automaker unveiled its 2027 updated minivan model.

Stellantis reported sales of 30,278 vehicles in Canada between January and March, up 15 per cent from the same period last year. The global automaker’s domestic market share rose to 7.6 per cent.

“Stellantis in Canada is off to a strong start in 2026, and our first-quarter results reflect the strength of our product lineup, and the trust Canadians continue to place in our brands,” Stellantis Canada president Trevor Longley stated in a news release.

“With sustained market share growth and solid performance across our product portfolio, our momentum continues to move upward.”

Much of that increase came from the Pacifica minivan, which is assembled at the Windsor Assembly Plant.

According to Stellantis, sales of the minivan climbed 256 per cent in the first quarter, to 4,008 units, compared to 1,126 sold domestically a year earlier.

The Chrysler Pacifica maintains its position as Canada’s top-selling minivan.

Stellantis unveiled the refreshed 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Wednesday at the New York International Auto Show. The new generation of the popular minivan comes with a new illuminated wing badge, updated front styling, and nature-inspired paint colours.

“Chrysler invented the minivan 43 years ago, and with more than 16.6 million sold, including more than 1.15 million Pacifica models, our leadership in this segment remains unmatched,” Chrysler brand CEO Matt McAlear said in a release.

The refreshed model, he added, opens “new opportunities for growth” as the automaker steps into the “next era of the Chrysler brand.”
