How Chinese startup Nio overtook 112-year-old auto giant

The history of electric vehicles goes back over a dozen years, but it was only relatively recently that the car market welcomed electric vehicles. This was primarily accomplished by Tesla, and for a long time, it had no other competitors in the market. However, now new players have appeared in the arena. The Chinese startup nio is one of them. It survived a rocky start and hard times on the verge of bankruptcy, but ultimately managed to surprise the world. The company produces 5,000 cars a month, has created a 150-kilowatt battery, and has developed a technology for replacing batteries. Welcome to the Innovative Techs! Today you will find out how the Chinese startup nio outpaced a 112-year-old auto giant. #elonmusk #musk #nio Don’t miss next videos: Press the little bell ((🔔)) to get notifications Production Music courtesy of Epidemic Sound

Here's the proof... Tesla Cybertruck vs Porsche 911 drag race

At the Cybertruck delivery event, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed the Cybertruck could tow a Porsche 911 down the 1/4 mile faster than a Porsche 911 could do it by itself. Thanks to MotorTrend, this test is now a reality, as we pitted the CyberBeast against a manual Porsche 911 T - the slowest current generation Porsche 911.

Are Teslas actually better for the environment?

Are Tesla Electric Cars actually better for the environment versus alternative energy sources? Do electric cars have lower emissions, even if their energy comes from fossil fuels? Between electric, hydrogen, gasoline, diesel, and hybrids, which uses the least amount of total energy, from well to wheel? This video will analyze the entire energy equation, starting from the very source of the fuel, whether that’s petroleum, natural gas, or other energy sources. Featured in the video is a 1965 Convertible Bug powered with Tesla battery pack modules. The car uses five modules of the 16 total in a Tesla Model S or X battery pack, giving it approximately 100 miles of range, paired with a 102 horsepower electric motor, and a manual transmission! It’s the ultimate environmentally friendly car, with a reused Beetle matched with reused Tesla batteries. Check out the video for a full breakdown of the emissions related impact of gasoline vs electric cars.

How global rallycross supercars hit 60 mph in 1.9 seconds

Regulations limit them to 2 liter engines and 45 millimeter turbocharger restrictor plates, which ultimately are the two factors limiting power. The engines produce about 600 horsepower, and over 650 lb-ft of torque, rocketing these machines from 0-60 in as fast as 1.9 seconds. 1.9 seconds! If we do the math, 60 mph is equivalent to 88 ft per second. 88/1.9 = 46.3 ft/sec squared, or if we divided by 32.2, it means the cars accelerate at over 1.4 longitudinal g’s!! That’s faster than any production vehicle, regardless of how much it costs. So how do they achieve such mind blowing acceleration? First and foremost, you’ll need all wheel drive and an absurd power to weight ratio. With a minimum weight of 2921 pounds including the driver and all fluids, the vehicles are carrying less than 5 pounds of weight for every horsepower the engine produces. All wheel drive is obviously critical for maximizing acceleration, but it’s also important that the engine torque finds its way to the wheels with the most traction. To do this, plate and ramp style mechanical limited slip differentials are used front and back. A shallow ramp angle in an LSD will lock up more easily under throttle. With the differential locked up, torque goes wherever it finds grip. A steep ramp angle will provide little lock-up, or if it’s as steep as 90 degrees, no lockup.

19 vehicles auto thieves still love most in Canada

A thief’s wish list in Canada is not built at random. It usually follows value, demand, familiarity, and whatever can move quickly through illegal resale channels, chop-shop networks, or export pipelines. Recent Canadian theft data shows the problem has cooled from peak crisis levels, but it is still severe: more than 57,000 private passenger vehicles were stolen in 2024, and about 40% were still unrecovered. This list highlights 19 vehicles that thieves still chase hard across the country. The first 10 are the national leaders by theft count, while the rest are provincial hot-list regulars or high-frequency standouts that show where criminal attention is shifting next.

This 510HP Audi RS1 keeps up with GT3s on track

Audi RS1 build transforms a compact S1 into a 520 horsepower machine using the legendary 2.5L 5 cylinder engine from the RS3, creating a one of a kind performance car. Despite the power increase, the car remains relatively lightweight at around 1,360 kg and features a full AWD and DSG conversion for maximum grip and acceleration. On the Nürburgring, it surprises by keeping pace with Porsche 911 GT3 models, proving its capability under extreme conditions. Massive brakes and a unique setup without a front anti roll bar help deliver sharp handling and stability. While the performance is impressive, the complexity and cost of the build make it clear why the owner refuses to recreate it again.

Edmunds: These are the used SUVs that hold their value best

There’s a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment that comes along with buying a new or used vehicle. Less appealing is the drop in value as your vehicle gets older. Depreciation is typically unavoidable, but certain vehicles tend to hold their value better than others once they enter the used car market. The reasons can vary, but it mostly comes down to how desirable the vehicle is.

The combustion engine perfected - Porsche GT4 RS

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is the pinnacle of Porsche Cayman, packing the 911 GT3's 4.0L boxer 6-cylinder engine, with nearly 500 horsepower. The naturally aspirated engine revs to 9,000 RPM, while delivering immediate response and torque. This is paired with a 7-speed PDK from the previous GT3, giving it the most aggressive gearing in a Porsche GT car, matched with the small platform of the 718. How does it all work out? Beautifully. This is truly among the best drivers cars out there, despite not carrying a stick-shift transmission. Out on the track, it's difficult to think of what can match the joy.
